Training on IPM for farmers held in Niuland

The department of Agriculture, conducted a training programme on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) at Hovishe village on June 22.
In a press release, office of the sub-divisional agriculture officer (SDAO) informed that in his keynote address, SDAO Niuland, L. Kivika Chophi highlighted the main purpose of the training programme.
He encouraged the farmers to take up farming activity sincerely in order to achieve better output and asked them to sincerely and actively participate in the training programme to gain maximum benefit.
The technical session was conducted by agriculture officer, Obed Chisho and agriculture inspector, Imkongyanger, where various topics including—identification of pest and defenders, management of rice leaf folder and management of fall army worm in maize were covered in detail.
Altogether, 25 farmers participated in the training programme.
Later, relevant training materials and bio-pesticides were distributed to the farmers.
