A two-day Measles Rubella Case Based Surveillance Transitioning Workshop was conducted at CMO conference hall, Longleng from December 13 to 14.
A press release from district media officer, CMO office, Longleng, Roseline stated that Dr. Imnameren Phom DPO (RCH/UIP) in his keynote address welcomed Dr. Ushman from WHO and the participants for the two-day workshop. He encouraged the participants to pay attention during the training and practice the things learnt when they go back to their own health units. Dr Imnameren also gave a brief introduction about the objectives of the workshop.
Dr. Ushman spoke on the Measles Rubella CRS diseases, epidemiology, ongoing MR outbreak surveillance and Transitioning to MR Case based surveillance, sensitization, outbreak investigation process, AFP&MR (VPD) surveillance system, status and ways to strengthen the system in the district, Timeline and rollout plan of MR cased based surveillance. The workshop included hands on exercises on all reporting formats and group work and case studies.
Dr. Imnameren Phom spoke on the role of MR laboratories and demonstrated use of the kits.
The workshop was attended by doctors from district hospital, nurses and MOs from the primary health centres, block program managers from the three blocks, Dr. Lirenthung Khuvung MO SHP (RBSK), Dr Molong Jamir Epidemiologist ISDP, DCM, DEO’S, VCCM, staffs from CMO office and district media officer.
