Training on oil palm cultivation at Baghty

Department of Agriculture conducted farmers training on oil palm cultivation under NMOOP programme on April 21 at Ruchayan circle.
A.O Bahgty Wochumo speaking on oil palm cultivation stressed that palm oil was a widely used vegetable oil amounting to 65 percent of all vegetable oil and apprised the participants of its benefit and importance.
The programme was chaired by SDAO L. Mhao Lotha, who informed the participants that oil palm under NMOOP was a newly launched programme implemented by the Department of Agriculture. Stating that agriculture has a very high prospect of profit to uplift their economy Mhao urged the farmers to be sincere in their activities.
The programme culminated with vote of thanks delivered by AFA Nlongtsu Mozhui.
Altogether 30 farmers attended the training and free maize, lime, rodenticides and paddy were also distributed to the farmers.
