Training on ‘operation and maintenance of solar systems’

A three-day training on “operation and maintenance of solar systems” was organised by the Solar Electric Light Company (SELCO) Foundation in collaboration with the Directorate of Health Services, Nagaland on December 13-15 in Mon district.
A press release by SELCO Foundation informed that during the training, staff from 55 health centres were trained on importance of solar system and basic operation and maintenance of the solar systems installed in the health centres.
Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), medical attendants, village health committee members from different Mopong Primary Health Centres, Yannu Health and Wellness Centre, Wakching Primary Health Centre and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office attended the training session.
SELCO said the training consisted of classroom sessions and practical exposure on basic maintenance. It further informed that the foundation along with Crypto Relief in partnership with the government of Nagaland, solar powered 55 health centres across Mon district.
The centres are equipped with 24×7 uninterrupted electricity, self-sustained with green energy solution that has direct impact on reducing CO2 pollution, staff well-being and less hospital expenditure for beneficiaries, informed SELCO.
