Spices Board of India in collaboration with District Agriculture Office Tuensang organised one-day training on organic ginger farming at Tuensang village on June 2.
During the training, the organic farmers highlighted the activities and achievements of organic ginger farming in the area. According to the farmers, so far, they have exported105 mts of organic ginger to Siliguri district of West Bengal from their own production.
The farmers further thanked the department Agriculture Tuensang and Spices Board of India branch Nagaland for their encouragement and assistance towards the upliftment and benefits of the farmers.
However, they highlighted that the people of Tuensang were facing immense hardships and untold problems owing to burning down of offices including Agriculture Office and Irrigation & Flood Control Tuensang, on December 8, 2016.
In this regard, the organic farmers reminded and appealed to the state government to look into the matter and take prompt action for the common benefits of the peoples.
