Training on paediatric care in COVID-19

Training on paediatric care in COVID-19 and psychological wellness for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) concluded on August 27.  

In a press release, district media officer, Shekho Sophie informed that ASHAs were briefed on the prevailing myths and misconceptions, danger signs, symptoms of COVID-19 in paediatric age group and supporting mental health of children on how to stay healthy and safe.  

ASHAs were trained on various roles and responsibilities and checklist for surveillance and monitoring by ANM/ASHA.

They were also trained on care of mother and neonates born to COVID-19 positive mother and Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness (IMNCI) approach to paediatric Covid case.

Altogether, 136 ASHAs were trained in the district where district trainers were CHC Tening Dr. Nuksung, PHC Athibung Dr. Vezokholu, CHC, Jalukie, Dr. Rachel, CHC Jalukie, Dr. Reuben, DH, Kamnanlyu CHO Nsong HWC, Sekholu DCM, Ipungringle BAC Sardar, Samzai BAC Jalukie, Lhainephal, BAC Athibung, Kewidinbile and BAC Tening.
