DIMAPUR: Department of Rural Development, DRDA Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland conducted a district level training on the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) for preparation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2026 27 at the DRDA conference hall, Dimapur, on July 3, 2026.
According to DIPR report, delivering the keynote address, project director DRDA Dimapur, Limameren Yaden said the GPDP forms the foundation for inclusive and sustainable rural development. He urged all line departments to actively participate in the planning process and work closely with Gram Panchayats and frontline workers to prepare realistic, need based and people centric development plans.
The programme began with a welcome address by Jacob Zeliang, BDO West Dimapur, who highlighted the importance of coordinated planning and stakeholder involvement. The technical session was conducted by Bichano Humtsoe, DPM RGSA, who gave detailed presentations on the objectives and framework of PPC and explained the GPDP preparation process. She stressed the importance of community participation and the role of line departments in providing technical support and sector specific inputs to ensure development plans reflect the aspirations of rural communities.
Officials from 12 line departments participated in the training, reflecting the government’s commitment to convergence and coordinated planning for holistic rural development. The participants discussed ways to strengthen inter departmental collaboration for effective preparation and implementation of GPDPs at the grassroots level.
The Department of Rural Development appreciated the active cooperation of all departments and reiterated that the success of PPC depends on collective efforts in preparing comprehensive and realistic Gram Panchayat Development Plans.
It reaffirmed its commitment to facilitating effective planning and convergence for successful implementation of GPDPs during 2026 27.
