Training on promotion of winter vegetables & onion cultivation

One day farmer’s training programme on “promotion of winter vegetables and onion cultivation for livelihood security” was conducted on August 31 at Beisumpuikam Village, Jalukie under Peren district.
A press release by School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD) Nagaland University (NU) informed that the training was conducted by All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP-vegetable crops), Nagaland Centre, SASRD-NU in collaboration in collaboration with North Eastern Hill Region (NEH) component for onion and garlic, Nagaland Centre.
During the technical session, scientist, AICRP (VC), department of horticulture, SASRD: NU, Dr. Moakala Changkiri emphasised on the methodology and various ideas on production of vegetable crops including onion with the use of organic sources.
In the second technical session, project in charge, NEH component (onion & garlic), SASRD:NU, Dr. Aastik Jha encouraged the farmers for “promotion of onion cultivation”.
