A scientific bee keeping training for the personnel and families of 2nd Nagaland Armed Police (NAP) Battalion Alichen organised by Unit family welfare of 2nd NAP Battalion in collaboration with Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) was held on July 8.
2nd NAP Battalion Alichen, commandant, Vekhosa Chakhesang said that the main objective of the training was to impart scientific knowledge and local expertise to the family members of the unit so as to give opportunities to the families for generating additional source of income. He thanked additional secretary, and team leader NBHM, Sentiwapang for making the programme possible. During the training, the resource persons, para-apiarist, T. Chuba Longkumer, TM, NBHM, Temjenchuba Kichu, and TM, NBHM, Francis Kikon talked on scientific knowledge and bee keeping, honey extraction, management and post-harvest.
Different methods of beekeeping and technical aspects of tools were imparted to the trainees. The training programme concluded with closing remark by deputy commandant, 2nd NAP Battalion Alichen, Kaino.
