Training programme on skill development for rural women organised by Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (ESD&E) culminated in Zubza and Surhuto on August 2 and 3, respectively.
Zubza: Joint Director of ESD&E, Zubemo Tsanglao, during the culmination program of skill development for rural women, held at Council Hall, Zubza, highlighted that as the training centres are located in Kohima and Dimapur, the government has brought the training in the village areas to ensure broader access and inclusivity.
He noted that the training program has previously covered essential trades such as construction, plumbing, and wiring. This latest phase focused specifically on tailoring, a skill set designed to empower women. He expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic participation of women in the program and encouraged them to utilize the tailoring kits provided by the government.
Tsanglao also mentioned that the department plans to maintain close contact with the villages, monitor the implementation of the skills learned and the economic benefits achieved. He said the department will report these findings to the government and, based on the success and satisfaction derived from these reports, there is a possibility of further assistance and expansion of the program in the future.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and toolkits to all the trainees.
The initiative, conducted through the Mobile Skill Morung, aimed to bring training directly to villages, ensuring broader access and inclusivity.
Suruhuto: The two-week training on skill development for the rural women through Mobile Skill Morung culminated at Suruhuto town on August 3. The programme was graced by Deputy Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Toiho Yepthomi.
According to a DIPR report, Toiho Yepthomi assured that several other skill development programmes will be provided. He also gave away the certificates and sewing machines to all the 25 trainees.
In his speech, Trongdiba Tongpi T Sangtam acknowledged the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for initiating the training for the welfare of the people. The programme was chaired by Employment Officer Zunheboto, Kahoto K Zhimomi.
