Family Planning Association of India, Nagaland Branch under the aegis of the government of Nagaland and the ministry of Tribal Affairs launched a month long vocational training program on soft toys making for young girls at Aboi town.
According to a press release from general manager, Vincent Belho, the trainees, numbering 130, will learn new skills to assist their passion for creativity and enable enhancement of their livelihood from the new skill.
Aboi EAC, Vineikho Tetso expressed his happiness at the overwhelming response of young people and wished that some of them would become professionals which would help them generate income and become self-reliant. He exhorted them to fully commit to the training, besides expressing the hope that training on other vocational trades may also be added in the future.
He also informed the young trainees about the works of FPA India focused on safe motherhood, maternal & child health, adolescent’s health and other vocational skill trainings for economic empowerment.
KNSK Aboi Unit president, Songmeth, thanked FPA India for bringing the training opportunity to the people, though far and remote. She also encouraged all the trainees to attend the training and learn from it with dedication so that they in turn, through their knowledge, may help others the art of soft toy making.
The opening program was moderated by the general manager, Vincent Belho along with three trainers Salhouvinuo Tsiekha, Alai Phom and Aphai Phom.
