Training on tobacco control for District Anti Tobacco Squad was held on July 28 in West city DC court.
In the first session 1st Class Magistrate Dimapur, Seyieleno Mezhu gave presentation on the provision and implementation of COTPA Sec 4,5,6,7 and also on Juvenile Justice Amendment Act 2015.
In the second session Dr C Tetseo gave presentation on inspection module for COPTA for DATS. It was also resolved during the training that District Anti Tobacco Squad would carry out regular checking in govt offices, schools shops, hotel & restaurants for compliance of COTPA 2003.
All the stake holders have been asked to immediately comply with the provisions of the law by displaying appropriate signboards and signage.
Defaulters by any of the entities mentioned above would be penalized as per the provision of the law.
