Training on water quality monitoring held in Dimapur

 PHED, rural division Dimapur conducted training on water quality monitoring and surveillance for grass root level workers at office complex of executive engineer, PHED, rural division Dimapur on August 19. 

A press release by PHED Dimapur stated that, state chemist PHED Roland Kikon as resource person spoke on water quality standards and emphasized on the importance of “Test before Taste.” He encouraged all trainees to know their water quality before consuming and explained how water can be physically, chemically and biologically contaminated and that excessive contamination can cause health problems. 
Chemist DWSM, Tzutipokla Longkumer, gave a detailed description on the contents of the field testing kit and hands on demonstration of step by step procedure of the field testing kit (FTK). Each village was given FTK by the department. Training was sponsored by Sanitation & WSSO, PHED Nagaland.
