Training on water quality testing with FTK

Training on water quality testing with Field Testing Kits (FTK) and online uploading of water reports in Water Quality Management Information System (WQMIS) portal through mobile app were imparted to the women members of water quality surveillance committee (WQSC) on October 19 at PHED office, Mokokchung Town. 

The training was organised by District Water & Sanitation Mission (DWSM) Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Mokokchung division and was sponsored by sanitation & WSSO, PHED.

In a press release, PHED Mokokchung division informed that the training envisaged on the main objective of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) which was to create a community based Water Quality Monitoring & Surveillance system at grassroots level by the community itself to enhance awareness of safe drinking water

Resource person of the training programme, Alemjungla Longchar, chemist, Mokokchung Division shared on the manual procedures and technical aspects of Field Testing Kit to the women members present.

Later, hands on training with the FTK was conducted.

The training was attended by 36 women members from Water Quality Surveillance Committee from 17 Villages. Field Testing Kits (FTKs) were also distributed to all the participants.
