Training program on banking for SHGs

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), in collaboration with Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), conducted a one day Sensitization & Training Program for Self Help Group (SHG) leaders and members under Ghathashi block at Town Hall, Pughoboto, on February 13.
A press release from block program manager, NSRLM, Ghathashi block, S Kanitoli Chishi, stated that a keynote address was delivered by district development manager, NABARD, Poji, where he encouraged the SHG members to build trust with bankers and avail facilities provided by the bank.
Bank manager, NRB, Kekhriezou, also trained the participants on the processes of SHG account opening, different insurance schemes available and also the process to apply for SHG loans. He also explained in detail the criteria for selecting eligible SHGs for loan and also different insurance policies that rural households can avail from their bank.
Bank sakhi for Ghathashi block, Kumughatoli, shared her experiences working with a bank, and PM-FI, SMMU, NSRLM, Rajuselie Lhousa, shared his experiences in working with community institutions and also explained how credit linkage can help boost the rural economy.
The program was chaired by DC-FI, Kitoho Sumi, and a welcome note and report on the status of Ghathashi block, was delivered by BPM, Ghathashi block, S Kanitoli Chishi.
A vote of thanks was delivered by AC-FI, Akuhaito block, N. Tokuho. Altogether, 60 participants attended the training.
