A two-day training on Mothers Absolute Affection (MAA) was conducted on September 15 and 16 at CMO conference hall, Phek. DPO RCH/UIP Dr. Pewezo Khalo in his key note address informed the participants that the training for health workers has been conducted to promote and support early and exclusive breastfeeding.
The training equips healthcare workers with the knowledge and skills to educate to educate mothers about the benefits of breastfeeding, assist them in initiating breastfeeding within the first hour of birth and encourage exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months,
The goal is to reduce child mortality and improve the overall health and well-being of mothers and infants by promoting optimal breastfeeding practices. The resource persons were Medical Officer CHC Meluri Dr .Rukuwe Thele and MO CHC Pfutsero Dr.Shasin.
The training topics include importance of optimal Infant and young child feeding and its advantages, production and intake of Breast milk, assessing and observing a breastfeed etc.
The training was attended by ANMs/GNMs/Staff nurse from CHCs & PHCs.
