Trg on post-harvest management

State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a two-day training on “post-harvest management and value addition of fruits and vegetables” for Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) on October 21-22 at SAMETI, Medziphema.

SAMETI Medziphema informed that the training was aimed at imparting technical knowledge on post-harvest management and value addition of fruits and vegetables to the participants.

Resource persons for the training program were post-harvest technologist, Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH) DA & FW, government of Inddia, Vinika K. Aomi and director resource team pristine foods, Er. Puteü Phesao. 

Topics on post-harvest management of vegetables, post-harvest processing, packaging and marketing of fruits and vegetables in Nagaland were covered during the training. Hands on demonstration for preparation of kiwi candy, gooseberry wine and squash were showed to the participants by pristine foods.Altogether 22 participants from different districts attended the training. The valedictory programme was chaired by deputy project director, SAMETI, Janet Chishi where the participants from all the districts interacted with the resource person. Certificates were distributed to the trainees by director SAMET and principal IETC, Dr. Watimongla Jamir.
