Training on skill development and enterprises was conducted separately on March 11 and March 5 at Longleng and Kiphire respectively.
In Longleng, one day training on skill development and enterprise was conducted by the office of the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS) Longleng.
During the training, the trainees were imparted on the concepts of skill development and enterprise with special emphasis on successful implementation of RKVY project under the district. Altogether 25 members of 6 Commodity Interest Group (CIGs) both from Longleng and Tamlu Block attended the training.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Atongba, SICS and keynote address was delivered by Chume Chang, ARCS, while Yongchit Phom LDA said the vote of thanks.
In Kiphire, the training programme on skill development and enterprises was held at Hopongkyu Memorial hall Kiphire under RKVY and cooperation department with assistant soil chemist Vishiyi Chishi as the resource person.
Speaking on the topic “maize cultivation/importance of insects’ pest and their control”, the resource person taught on different types of soil worms and how to prevent them from damaging crops. Chishi also spoke on how to make a medicine from plants to kill insects and on what to grow crops on different types of soil.
The programme was chaired by Sr. Inspector, S. Kakuto Chophy while Tinglichum Sangtam delivered the vote of thanks. Mobilization of farmers and objects of CIG was spoken by SICS, S.Kakuto Chophy.
