Trucks over 6 wheels banned on NH-2

DIMAPUR, JUN 2 (NPN)

In view of the severe road subsidence along National Highway-02 (Kohima to Mao Road) near Phesama resulting in complete closure of the affected section of the highway, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Dimapur has issued traffic regulation for strict compliance. In a traffic advisory, CP Dimapur stated that movement of heavy vehicles bound for Manipur (not more than six wheels) would be restricted beyond Chathe Bridge (Patkai Junction) until fur-ther notice.
CP informed that restriction was being imposed to prevent traffic congestion and to mitigate public inconvenience along the stretch between Chathe Bridge and Kohima.
Further, all the transporters, commercial vehicle operators, and the general public have been re-quested to cooperate and comply with the advisory in the interest of public safety and smooth traffic management. CP notified that the advisory would remain in effect until further notice.
