Tikhir Students’ Union (TSU) has imposed “total bandh” on NH-202 under Tikhir jurisdiction starting from 6 p.m. January 15. In a press release, TSU president Longkamse S. Tikhir and general secretary Temong. Y. Tikhir stated that the decision to impose bandh was necessitated as the cabinet decision of January 15, 2016 approved holding of YAA golden jubilee at Shamator contrary to January 2, 2016 decision and also due to non-fulfilment of its four-point charter demands submitted on December 29, 2015. TSU informed that security forces, police, administration and medical department have been exempted from the purview of bandh. Asserting that it has also resolved to boycott YAA golden jubilee at Shamator, TSU, cautioned that “if any unwanted situation arose out of this”, the government would be solely held responsible.
