TSUK holds 30th general session

The Thenyizumi Students’ Union Kohima (TSUK) held its 30th General Session cum Fresher’s Social 2025 on August 23 at Dr. Setu Memorial Hall, Alder College, Sepfüzou Colony, Kohima, with Divisional Accounts Officer, PWD (R&B), Government of Nagaland, Vezhoto Nakro, gracing the occasion as guest speaker.
Addressing the gathering, Nakro emphasized the importance of self-esteem, integrity, and living a life rooted in faith. He stated that “education without God is like a clever devil,” and urged students to view themselves as God’s masterpiece, encouraging them to overcome fear with gratitude and appreciation.
He further advised students to remain competitive, not be discouraged by failure, and to pursue their goals with diligence and purpose. Nakro cautioned against unhealthy habits and excessive screen time, while highlighting that self-esteem fosters responsibility, optimism, and a positive impact on society.
Greetings were also delivered by Thenyizumi Village Council chairman, Medothi Rhakho, who commended the achievements of TSUK members and encouraged continued unity and growth. Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) Social & Cultural secretary, Tekhewulo Chirha, urged students to make wise choices and use artificial intelligence responsibly without compromising creativity and hard work.
The new executive team of TSUK for the tenure 2025–26 was announced by nomination committee convenor, Vesekho Thisa, with Er. Vede Dawhuo appointed as president. A dedicatory prayer was offered by Kroseyi Theyo.
Earlier, the presidential address was delivered by Zhokhosa Dawhuo, followed by the education and statistical report presented by Atolu Thisa. A speech on behalf of the freshers was delivered by Kehuneyi Poru.
The ‘Achievers Talk’ segment featured Kekhrulu Nakro (Top 18, HSLC), Metsilu Swiho (Top 5, HSSLC Science Stream), Nukhoto Dawhuo and Akhruto Dawhuo (NSSB CASE 2024). Miss Universe Nagaland, Kelülü Dawhuo, also made a special appearance.
Cultural presentations included a folk song by the Women Society of Thenyizumi Village and a musical performance by Keluvelu Thisa and Thepuyho Thisa.
The programme was led by TSUK vice-president Vehuto Kezo, with invocation by Zanehu Dawhuo and benediction by Neposwu Kezo.
