Tsungkamneo festival celebrated at Pungro

Tsungkamneo festival, one of the premier festivals of Yimchungru tribe was held with pomp and gaiety at Pungro town hosted by YTC at sub-treasurer YTC Pungro on January 16.  

A press release from Yimchungru Tribal Council (YTC) media cell stated that, speaking on the occasion as special invitee, EAC Pungro Wiridin emphasized on the importance of culture and tradition and urged the peoples to preserve one’s identity in order to keep it alive.  
The significance of Tsungkamneo was highlighted by Musumong Hd GB Pungro while folk songs were performed by Shorih Colony and Forest Ward Pungro.  Earlier, the programme was chaired by social and cultural secretary YTC, Kinan. Welcome address was delivered by executive chairman YTC Shelimthong, while invocation was pronounced pastor PTBC, Yimto.  
Vote of thanks was proposed by convenor local festival committee Shellen and benediction by catechist, St. Paul Parish Pungro, Throngji Samuel. The programme was attended by HoDs of Pungro ADC Hq and various leaders of civil societies.
