Tikhir general public during a meeting held on January 12 and 13 at Kiusam town, headed by Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC) and Tikhir Students’ Union (TSU) have firmly resolved to stand on its December 29, 2015 charter of demand.
This was stated in a press release issued by TTC general secretary, Tothong Phillip and vice president, S. Pongsuthong.
Tikhir Tribal Council claimed that it has received report on the preparation for holding YAA golden jubilee on the pretext of having negotiations between Yimchunger Tribal Council and Tikhir Tribal Council. Therefore, TTC cautioned that if YAA was planning to hold their jubilee secretly despite cabinet standing order and State government failing to enforce its decision in letter and in spirit, then the council would initiate steps to stop them from holding their jubilee.
Tikhir Tribal Council also stated that Tikhirs should not be held responsible for any untoward incident on the part of the government in failing to adhere to its standing order.
