Tseminyu Tsipwen Kecho Logwa (TTKL) won the 1st Rengma Sports Association (RSA) Mini Olympics 2024 at the closing ceremony held at RSA Ground in Tseminyu on Saturday securing 44 medals (17 gold, 14 solver and 13 bronze) followed by Kasha Daho Sports Association with 29 medals and third place was Phenshuyu Lowjun Sports Association with 18 medals.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Kvulo Lorin, Chairman NIDC and Director Tetso College, stated that the government of the day was committed to the welfare of youths, including music and sports, stating that focusing on the past would hinder future progress.
He informed that the Nagaland Olympics, scheduled for February, hosted by Tetso College, sponsored by the Council of Rengma Baptist Church (CRBC), accommodated over 1500 athletes, with the college also hosting Basketball in its campus.
He advised the youths that greatness starts from humble beginnings, and by working hard and collectively, growth as a community and district is achievable. He also informed about Tetso College’s plans to offer a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Sports, boasting the best sports infrastructure in the state.
The Rengma Sports’ Association (RSA) declared the inaugural edition of the 1st RSA Mini Olympic 2024, open which was held from January 11 to 20th at the RSA Ground in Tseminyu. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of all seven ranges under Tseminyu district, showcasing their skills in various sports, including football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, and other athletic events and the sports aimed to inspire athletes and spectators alike, symbolizing the spirit of competition and friendship.
The 1st RSA Mini Olympic 2024 was a celebration of athleticism, camaraderie, and the indomitable spirit of Tseminyu as a district and its people. Under the theme “Aspire to Inspire,” the event delivered ten days of thrilling sports action, fostering a sense of pride and inspiration among participants and spectators alike.
