Lauding the state government for ordering the removal of all check gates within the state, the Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) has urged the state government to fully implement its order and rescue the common public from price rise.
In a press release, Tenyimi Union Dimapur president Vekhosayi Nyekha stated that the menace of rampant taxation by various government departments and “underground factions” in all the check gates has led to price rise of all the essential commodities affecting the life of common people.
TUD said that doing away with all the illegal collection in check gates was the long pending demand of the general public.
It said that the recent order “brought back the public trust” towards the implementing agency, adding that “this act will surely have a flow outcome.”
Meanwhile, TUD has appreciated governor Jagdish Mukhi for initiating to issue the order to curb the illegal collection. It also lauded the deputy chief minister Y. Patton for his “seriousness to do away with illegal taxation.”
