DIMAPUR, JUN 8 (NPN): Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) has welcomed the state government’s decision to grant Scheduled Tribe (ST) Certificates and Permanent Resident Certificates (PRC) to members of the Rongmei community covered under the 1313 enumerated list and their direct descendants.
In a press release, TUD president Thepfuneituo Rio appreciated the government’s decision, describing it as a positive step toward resolving a long-pending issue affecting many eligible members of the Rongmei community. The union stated that Rongmei individuals who fulfilled the prescribed criteria rightfully deserved to be accommodated and accorded the benefits provided under the government order.
TUD expressed hope that the implementation process would be carried out in a fair, transparent and orderly manner in accordance with the established guidelines.
Further, the union said the decision would help address a longstanding concern while ensuring that eligible beneficiaries received the entitlements due to them under the government’s directive.
