
Tuensang District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on August 7 at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang wherein the members discussed on the ensuing 75th Independence Day celebration, COVID-19 pandemic among other issues.
According to DIPR report, the meeting chaired by DC and vice chairman DPDB Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant discussed on the work distribution for the upcoming Independence Day celebration.
As per the directive of the home department to commemorate the celebration of 75th year of Independence, the members also discussed the scheduled for the event/ programmes, to be held within the district.
The events are as follows – August 9, National Flag Rally and cleaning tower clock by NYKS and demonstration on rural technology by GM DIC; essay writing competition and innovative practices of competition for classes 1 to 7 on August 10 by DEO; baking classes by DLCW-MSK on August 11; national flag rally and ADC office cleaning at Shamator on August 12 by NYKS; bike rally and basketball exhibition match on August 13 by DYRO DSO; mini marathon on August 14 at Tuensang Town by DEF and visit to Bethel Children Home for awareness on child Rights by SAKHI-One Stop Centre and Plantation Drive and cleanliness drive in various RD Blocks from August 9-14.
Associate director ECS, Chongshen Soted briefed the members on the first phase intensive COVID-19 vaccination drive and applauded the contribution of the head of departments of the district.
He informed that the second and third vaccination drive was scheduled to be carried out from August 22-29 and September 19-26 respectively and that these phases would focus on the villages where vaccination was comparatively low.
The agenda on NST bus service from Tuensang to Noksen was also discussed and the concern department was asked to submit the details in the next meeting.
