Tuensang District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting on July 18 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Tuensang, under the chairmanship of minister of Housing and Mechanical Engineer and chairman DPDB Tuensang, P. Bashangmongba Chang.
The meeting began with a review of the previous month’s minutes, followed by discussion on the poor condition of the BRO Road connecting Tuensang to Mon.
The agenda was submitted by N.Y. Choba, president of Chang Khulei Setshang. After deliberation, the board decided to forward the matter to the concerned department for necessary action.
The board also approved the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) and Iconic Schemes for 51 Noksen A/C, 53 Tuensang Sadar-I A/C, and 54 Tuensang Sadar-II A/C.
Earlier, the DPDB organised a felicitation and presentation of meritorious award programme for six HSLC toppers from Tuensang district.
Minister P. Bashangmongba Chang congratulated the students and expressed gratitude to the principals and teachers of St. John Higher Secondary School, Holy Angel School, and Eklavya Model School for their dedication and support.
He praised the students for their hard work and perseverance, stating, “Behind every high achievement is a story of hard work. Be the author of your success.”
He also cautioned students against the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse, calling it a serious concern, and urged them to remain humble and seek God’s guidance for future success.
Bashangmongba lauds Sao Chang NU toppers
Minister of Housing and Mechanical Engineer, P. Bashangmongba Chang attended the felicitation programme for Nagaland University CBCS toppers at Multi-Purpose Hall, Sao Chang College, Tuensang on July18.
According to DIPR report, the minister, congratulated seven students who secured top ranks in the NU Examination 2025, calling their success a proud moment for the institution, teachers, and parents. He said hard work and a positive mindset matter more than just marks.
Highlighting job challenges faced by graduates, he encouraged students to explore opportunities under the Industrial Development Authority of Nagaland and MSME. The event featured speeches by principal Dr. Lanurenla, DC Tuensang Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, and a special prayer by Tonchingsangla of PCB 3rd NAP BN Church. Dr. Lal Veda Chandra Kumar, vice principal, delivered the vote of thanks, and the programme was chaired by Assistant Professor Akyuba Sangtam.
