Tuli Town celebrates first-ever World Music Day

Tuli Town marked its inaugural celebration of World Music Day with a vibrant and music-filled evening at children park on June 21. The event, organized by Zungar Telongjem Tuli in collaboration with the Tuli Town Council, brought together music enthusiasts, local talents, and community members for an unforgettable night dedicated to the universal language of music.
Altogether 13 solo artist and 5 band performed captivating the audience, showcasing a wide range of genres and styles reflective of the town’s diverse musical spirit. The performers includes House of Music Academy, Temjensunep, Merenjungla, Lenuknaro, Old Timers, Chubakatila, Imlijungshi Sanglir, Aliba, Sentikala, The Zungar, Chitensangba, Sentimenla, Walunir Imsong, The Echoes, Imkongsunep, Sentilemla, Sunep Sanglir and Soul Anchor.
The celebration began with an invocation, followed by a welcome address from the Tuliyong Ward chairman, councillor Tuli town council I. Onen Longkumer. In his short speech, Longkumer emphasized the importance of promoting local talent and community-driven cultural events.
The core objective of the event was to empower and uplift young talents by offering them a shared platform to express their musical creativity. Organizers emphasized that World Music Day is not just a celebration of melodies but a celebration of community spirit, cultural identity, and artistic potential. With a successful first edition, the organizers hope to make this an annual tradition to nurture and spotlight the town’s growing pool of musical talent.
