TUN appeals for peace in Manipur

DIMAPUR, OCT 23 (NPN): Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN) has appealed to all the communities in Manipur to pursue dialogue, mutual respect and reconciliation to restore peace and ensure peaceful coexistence.
In a press release, TUN president KT Vilie and general secretary Khriehuzo Lohe said peace was the foundation of a harmonious society and unity remained the strength of the people. Expressing hope for peace and understanding among the communities in Manipur, TUN said violence and conflict brought only suffering, loss of precious lives and hardship.
The union appealed to the leaders, elders, civil society organisations (CSOs), youth and all right-thinking citizens to work together to restore peace and foster mutual understanding. It stressed that every human life was precious and every community deserved dignity, security and respect.
TUN also urged all responsible to allow dialogue to replace violence and brotherhood to overcome bitterness. The union called for collective efforts to secure a peaceful future for present and future generations. “Let peace prevail, let humanity triumph, and let Manipur live in peace,” the union stated.
