Tuophema village under the aegis of its village council celebrated “Sekrenyi” festival of purification with fanfare on February 27 at amphitheatre, Tuophema village.
A press release from the organisers stated that, gracing the celebration as the special guest, contractor Thepfuneituo Rio stressed on unity among the villagers and obedience to its leaders and elders.
Forgiveness, he said was the key to peace, harmony and happiness among the people, and urged the people to absolve the wrong of others.
Rio was of the view that the village was blessed in many ways than any other villages and urged the people to continue to maintain good values of unity, brotherhood and cleanliness.
The festival also saw competition of folk songs among the khels, participated by men and women. Both foreign and domestic tourists were seen in colourful traditional attires. Folk songs were presented by the villagers.
Tati Group Enterprise organised the Sekrenyi concert in the evening featuring renowned artistes like LC Sekhose, The Cotton County, Lapla, Jojo etc hosted by Ruopfuzhano Whiso.
