Tizu Valley Biodiversity Conservation and Livelihood Network (TVBCLN) Zunheboto, in collaboration with, the Energy Resources Institute of India TERI organised four-day farmers’ exposure trips to the Kiphire district from September 24 to 28.
The trip was supported by Japan Fund for Global Environment, Environmental and Restoration Agency, JFGE.
A press statement by team leader TVBCN, Ivan Jimomi, 15 farmers from Sukhai, Ghukhuyi and Kivikhu were taken to Fakim wildlife Sanctuary and Shiloi Lake.
The main objectives for the organizing the trips was to let the farmers to interact with progressive farmers and share the knowledge of best practices of traditional and sustainable jhum cultivation in the areas and also to have access knowledge on how eco- tourism was promoting in the areas.
