TVC bars illegal construction

Thüvopisü Village Council (TVC) has prohibited illegal construction within its jurisdiction and served two-week deadline to the defaulters to dismantle all those illegal structures starting from April 28.
The council warned that after the expiry of the deadline, the Youth Front will dismantle all those illegal structures.

In a press release seasonal chairman, Vetsüta Venyo and seasonal secretary, Nezosa Tetseo, said that the resolution was unanimously adopted at the coordination meeting with all the stakeholders held on April 28 at Thüvopisü village. At the meeting, the house also deliberated on two-lane road with paved shoulder from Chozuba to Phek (NH-720A) and resolved to adhere by the meeting minutes of March 20, 2024 issued by Deputy Commissioner, where he had appealed to the village councils to restrain/prohibit construction of new structures within their jurisdiction as it will impede on the smooth passage of the Highway project.


TVC therefore appealed to the district administration to take stringent action against illegal construction along the propose NH 702A two lane. The council also demanded that the effected landowners be compensated adequately according to the land category under acquisition and warned that in event of any foul play or biasness during the payment of compensation, the village council or the Local Monitoring Committee will file a writ petition/public interest litigation. While welcoming the road project, the council resolved to strengthen the hands of district administration and all other stakeholders in executing the proposed NH 720A two-lane.
Further, the house also resolved and constituted a committee to monitor and coordinate with the stakeholders under the banner – Local Monitoring Committee on two-lane construction (LMC).
