TVSU makes new demands on COC&I Tuensang issue

Tuensang Village Students’ Union (TVSU) has made a demand to hold a general meeting and reshuffle of Chamber of Commerce & Industries Tuensang (COC&I) saying that the matter should be deliberated and decided with the “prior knowledge and concern of the well established stake holders”.
In a press statement TVSU president, Imlong Zanchu and chairman Ngakhu Thungti, said this demand was in addition to its five-point charter of demand for dissolution of the present office bearers and executive committee of COC&I.
TVSU has also demanded inclusion of stakeholders, i.e. Local Entrepreneurs Association Tuensang, Muslim community and Hindu community, in the general meeting so as to conduct it without any “outward interference and bias”.
The union further warned that if in the absence of the mentioned entities, any meeting or decision taken against the interest of the said communities shall be considered null and void.
TVSU has also accused COC&I Tuensang of functioning in a “dictatorship manner violating the democratic rights of every bona fide citizens of Tuensang”.
It also informed that the demand for dissolution of COC&I has been submitted to the district administration on two occasions and had kept the matter in abeyance for amicable solution following request for more time (till April 24) by the concern authority.
