Two arrested in Dec 5 blast case

Two co-accused involved in Eros Lane bomb explosion on December 5, 2014, have been arrested from Manipur and brought to Dimapur. They were reported to be an active member of the People Liberation Army (PLA), Manipur based insurgent organization.
They have been identified as Maiban Biren Singh, son of M Tomba of Sabungkhkok Makha Leikai village, Lamlai in Imphal East, and Katuncha @ M Jiban Singh, son of Priyo Kumar of Sabungkhkok Makha Leikai village, Lamlai in Imphal East (Manipur).
The two were arrested following revelation by the Longjam Ojit Meitei, who was injured in the explosion. Longjam Ojit Meitei disclosed that he had come to Dimapur along with Maiban Biren Singh on the direction of SS Captain Krishna of PLA organization with three IEDs to be planted at Diampur with an objective to disrupt the Republic Day.
The arrested accused persons revealed that the IEDs were meant for three locations at Dimapur one at the garbage collection area at Burma camp below fly-over, second at the garbage collection area opposite Hotel Senti and third the DMC dustbin at Eros Lane junction.
SDPO and PRO Dimapur stated that a regular case has been registered vide Dimapur East PS C/No. 04/2015 U/S 121/120 B IPC R/W 3/4/5 Explosive Substance Act and further investigation is on.
