Two-day NLA session begins

The eight session of the 13 Nagaland Legislative Assembly began on Tuesday with chief minister Neiphiu Rio making obituary references to the passing away of sitting member of NLA Toshi Wungtung. NLA Speaker, Sharingain Longkumer also made obituary references to the following former members of the NLA –Khutovi Sema, K. Imlong Chang, P.K. Along, N. Yeshito Chishi, Dr. K.C. Nihoshe and T. Kikon.

Introduction of government bills: Leader of the house, Neiphiu Rio introduced two government bills- The Nagaland Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment Taxation (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2020 and The Nagaland Lokayukta (Amendment No.2) Bill, 2021.

Laying of reports/rules: Leader of the house, Neiphiu Rio laid a copy of the Annual Report 2019-2020 of the Nagaland Information Commission. Tribal Affairs and Higher Education, minister Temjen Imna Along also laid a copy of the Rules/Bye-Laws of Nagaland Eklavya Model Residential School Management Society.
