Two persons died on the spot and fourteen others sustained injuries when the Bolero pickup, bearing registration no. NL07 A 6465, reportedly a passenger vehicle plying between Zakho village and Tizit town (Namsa) met with an accident at around 11 a.m on Tuesday.
According to sources, the ill fated pickup fell over 300 feet below road while on its way back to Zakho, between Ngangting and Zakho villages.
According to reports, the deceased were identified as Shahtoh (male) age about 79 years and Meilem (female) age about 19 years. Meanwhile of the 14 injured, 4 (3 female and 1 male) were reported to be in serious condition. All the injured has been referred to Assam, according to report.
The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained as the driver himself was amongst the injured.
