Assam Rifles Battalion Shamatore along with a police representative, on October 13, nabbed two persons with arms.
A press release by Assam Rifles stated that based on specific information, a mobile vehicle check post was established in the general area of Yakur-KTC Road Junction, Tuensang district.
The release said that a Maruti Gypsy (NL03 5571) was intercepted and two individuals identified as Phapa (38) alias Peshia son of Pumang, and Khumo (38) son of Pokoi, both from Panso village under Tuensang district were apprehended along with three pistols (country made), two mobile phones and Rs 1650 cash. The individuals along with the recovered items were handed over to Shamatore police station for further investigation.
