The Nagaland Football Association (NFA) conducted the U-20 boys’ football trials at the Chumoukedima Football Stadium on Saturday, in preparation for the forthcoming Swami Vivekananda U-20 Men’s National Football Championship scheduled to be held in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, from May 2 to May 24, 2026.
A total of 264 young and talented players from across Nagaland participated in the trials, with the first phase of selections successfully completed.
Addressing the players, joint secretary of the NFA, L. Shahoto Yimchunger, encouraged the participants to remain consistent in their efforts, emphasizing that “hard work, dedication, and discipline always beat talent.” He urged those who were not selected not to lose hope but to continue chasing their dreams with determination.
For the selected players, Yimchunger appealed for greater sincerity and dedication, advising them to make the best use of the guidance imparted by their coaches as they prepare to represent Nagaland at the national level.
