Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dimapur cum DMA-SSA chairman, Kesonyu Yhome IAS, on Friday described Unified-District Information System for Education (U-DISE) as an informed architecture for school education in the state.
“UDISE has been the base for undertaking many schemes and programmes for developing the education sector in the state and the country by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and School Education Department as well”, he said. Speaking as chief guest at the launching of U-DISE organised by District Mission Authority (DMA) Dimapur at IMC hall here on Friday, Kesonyu said every scheme and every policy mooted by school education and Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) was based on the information from U-DISE.
He however lamented the practice of late and inaccurate submission of information by schools.
In this regard, Yhome appealed to all head of institutions and data entry operators to display every data saying “we are not dealing with data and statistic but with the life of the society/life of young children, so definitely it is not a responsibility that we can debate.”
DC further called upon all sections of the society to understand the importance of U-DISE information.
SSA, deputy mission director, Talitemsu Jamir spoke on the meaning and role of education.
Jamir also highlighted the administrative set up of SSA/ RMSA and the different component of SSA which includes Teachers training (ACL), access, KGBV, civil work, computer aided learning, community mobilization, inclusive education, RAA, OOSC, swachh bharat, swachh vidyalaya.
The deputy mission director informed that prior to SSA ‘civil work’ was the major contribution to the state under which many new schools buildings and additional classrooms have been constructed and many dilapidated buildings reconstructed.
While informing the gathering about the various projects and activities of the department, Jamir underscored the need for accurate U-DISE data in order to successfully implement and complete the schemes/projects.
Meanwhile, PowerPoint presentation on sensitization on U-DISE was presented by project assistant Itwadu Thou where he informed that distribution and submission of student profile and U-DISE format private and central school would be held on September 30 to October 17 (U-DISE in hard copy and students Profile in soft copy, in the template given in CD), for new schools it would be held on October 3 to 17, government schools on September 30 to October 14 (respective EBRC) and October 15 to 18 (EBRC to DMA Office)
At the programme, 10 teachers from each government and private schools were certified based on the timely submission of U-DISE data and overall performance for the past three years.
Earlier the programme was chaired by ToT Susie Ngullie and welcome address was delivered by DDEO, Dimapur Amongla Jamir while assistant programmer, Esther Chang spoke on the significance of the Day.

Kohima: With the rest of the country, the celebration of U-DISE Day 30th September-cum-sensitization on implementation of student data collection in-Sync with U-DISE 2016-17 was held at Ura Academy Hall Kohima organized by district mission authority SSA Kohima on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kohima and also Chairman DMA, SSA Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor IAS said U-DISE (Unified –District Information System for Education) was an important mandatory national project with the target to know the correct information about the educational statistics in the country to monitor for effective planning.
While stressing on the importance of furnishing correct and genuine students’ statistic data in all the institutions in the state, he said the government aids and funding shall be taken up according with the provided data.
He cautioned the head of the institutions including universities and board to implement strictly as per the instruction from the HRD Ministry to provide required data information in the prescribed format, failing which the district administration would take serious note for the defaulters.
DC sought the support and cooperation from all the educational institutions to furnish accurate and clear information through the U-DISE Exercise.
Deputy district education officer (DDEO), i/c District project co-coordinator, DMA, SSA Kohima, Nagaland, Neizetuonuo in her keynote address stated that the U-DISE Exercise 2016 would cover all schools across the Country and 301 schools would be covered under Kohima district.
She informed that the prescribed form filled up has to submit to their respective educational block resource centres (EBRCS) on or before October 15 for government schools and on or before October 28 for private schools. She also reiterated the importance of U-DISE and stressed on the need to have consistent data at the grassroot level adding the data must be realistic.
DDEO informed that the database information about the school level statistics would be used in monitoring the Government flagship programmes, measuring progress of the School, tools to plan inputs for preparation of work planning and programmes.
Resource person of the function, assistant programmer DMA, SSA Kohima, Aseno explained in detail through PowerPoint presentation about the sensitization on Implementation of Student Data Collection In-sync with U-DISE 2016-17.
Other speaker who spoke on the occasion includes Statistical Officer DSE Nagaland, Kohima, Tsupithong, representatives from SMA, SSA Official, RMSA Official, SDEOs Kohima, Chiephobozou and Tseminyu.
The programme was chaired by asst. district co-ordinator DMA,SSA Kohima Thongsenlo, while vote of thanks was proposed by District Data Entry Operator DMA, SSA Kohima, Kevisevolie Kevin Solo. Hundreds of head of institutions, teachers, representatives both from private and government attended the programme.
