United Baptist Church (UBC) Thahekhu block-II celebrated its 30th foundation-day-cum cultural show under the theme “The year of redeemed” (Isaiah 63:4) on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, United Baptist Church Association North East India (UBCANEI) executive secretary, Rev. L Hevuto Awomi spoke on the importance and value of culture and custom that represent the identity. He stressed on the importance of mother tongue, and said that it was important for the child’s overall development as it connects to culture.
Extracting from the book of 2 Thessalonians 2:8, revelation 18:4, 16:1 and John 3, Rev. Hevuto shared on how to receive deliverance from God and said that those who receive salvation will be redeemed. Thereby, he encouraged the gathering to continue to walk with faith.
A brief history of the church was presented by Lummai Rogmei, prayer by UBC pastor Loveson Leivon and scripture reading by youth pastor Lily. Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by Lonchan Tanti.
The gathering was enthralled by beautiful songs by various theological institutions of Dimapur and a cultural show showcasing the traditional attires of the 16 tribes.
