Along with the rest of the World Urban Block Resource Centre (UBRC) Kuda conducted World Environment Day with SDO civil (sardar) Dimapur, Zakabo V Rottokha as chief guest and DDEO, Dimapur Amongla Jamir as guest of honour.
Focussing on the theme, chief guest in his speech asserted that it was time to think on how humans are interrelated with nature for well being and sustenance.
He lamented how the environment has been rapidly degrading due to several factors, wherein people had failed to appreciate nature. Thereby, he encouraged the gathering saying “You and I can start a new way of preserving the environment and can do much more than that to save the environment”.
He also mentioned about certain measures that can be implemented to bring an impact on the years and make a big difference to make it a better place.
Guest of honour, in her speech lauded the initiative taken by UBRC Kuda in organizing such programme.
She reminded the gathering of the responsibility that one could take up to contribute towards clean environment. She also mentioned about the climatic changes and its effects.
The programme further highlighted art and essay competition.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by ToT Lucy Kath Seb and later vote of thanks was delivered by ToT Khrieno Angami.
