IQAC, Unity College Dimapur (UCD), organised a two-day NAAC sponsored national seminar on “Teaching, learning and evaluation in North East India: Issues and challenges” organized by IQAC, Unity College, Dimapur on November 21 and 22.
A press release from Dr. Tongpangkumla and Dr.Temjenwabang IQAC, Unity College stated that, seminar was graced by prof. Sivasish Biswas, pro-vice chancellor, Assam University, Diphu Campus; Prof. Niranjan Roy, head, Economics, Assam University, and prof. S. K. Sharma, Agriculture, Chemistry and Soil Science, SASRD, NU as resource persons. Seminar was led by Dr. Vivolhuno Punyu, as convenor and Dr. Adani Ngullie as co-convenor.
Chairman of the IQAC and principal, Unity College, Dr. Lichumo Enie highlighted that many educational institutions in Northeast India are now at par with the rest of the mainland India though NE India is often considered as an underdeveloped region.
He also emphasised that priority should be given to fine tune the education system in NE India to produce quality education.
There were 150 participants, 12 paper presenters and three resource persons. Spread out in three technical sessions, presenters deliberated on topics ranging from use of ICT, best practices, challenges on work culture, grading and evaluation.
