UGC extends timelines for online applications for scholarship

University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education, Government of India has extended timelines for online applications for scholarship and has invited fresh applications (including renewals) from regular and full time students under four schemes for 2020- 2021; Indira Gandhi PG scholarship for single girl child (SGC); PG scholarship for university rank holder candidate (URH); Ishan Uday special scheme for North Eastern region (NER); PG scholarship for professional courses for SC/ST candidates.

According to DIPR report, the guidelines of each scheme may be accessed at “national scholarship portal”. The students who are eligible and have been admitted in the recognised institutions as per guidelines may submit their applications through www.scholarships.gov.in
The portal will be opened for receiving applications for fresh as well as renewals as per the following extended timelines; closing date for filing online applications by students January 20; closing date for verification of applications by institutions of students including re-submission of defective applications February 5.
Students are advised to submit their online applications in time. As per notification issued by secretary, UGC, Prof. Rajnish Jain, eligible institutions are advised to verify applications of their students immediately after receiving the applications on portal. It would be in the interest of students if applications were verified by institutions by January 31 for any rectifications.
