In connection with detection of two positive COVID-19 cases, one each from UGC Girls’ Hostel (GH) Yingli College and Phom Lempong School (PLS) quarantine centre, Longleng, the deputy commissioner Longleng in the interest of public health and safety has declared the above quarantine centres as containment zone as per Standard Operating Procedure issued by directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland.
According to DIPR report, DC Longleng also issued relaxation order for entry of vehicles from Assam. The timing for entry of vehicles bringing essential commodities from Assam has now been relaxed and entry of such vehicles will be permitted between 3 p.m to 6 a.m.
Further, owners of such commodities have been directed to ensure that occupants (driver/handyman/helper) of such vehicles remain inside the vehicle on entry to the district/exit from the district and also during unloading of commodities. Non compliance to the aformentioned directives and all other SOPs in existence to contain and control the spread of the Coronavirus will invite immediate cancellation of permit/permits and also strict legal actions as per relevant sections of the existing laws in force. This order will come into effect from July 15.
