The United Government of Nagaland/Naga National Council (Parent Body) [UGN/NNC (PB)] has announced its merger with the GPRN/NSCN (U), stating the step was taken in the interest of the Naga people to uphold the Nagas’ right to freedom and for an early resolution of the Naga issue.
In a statement, according to an update from the president’s office, the decision was taken during an emergency meeting of all ranks and files convened on August 27 and presided over by UGN/NNC (PB) president, Kiutsangkhiung.
The statement further alleged that the organisation’s vice president, Akaho, and interim ato kilonser (general secretary), Nupavi, had deliberately violated the government’s code of conduct through unconstitutional practices.
