Rengma Hoho (RH) has claimed that the conduct of Urban Local Body (ULB) election to the Tseminyu Council has created “model election” as it exceeded expectations of a peaceful election and set a historic example, where not even a stray incident was reported.
RH said this has created a model election not only for Tseminyu district but for the entire Nagaland.
RH president, Tesinlo Semy and general secretary, Shatilo Kent in a press statement, expressed the hope that the Rengmas, remain steadfast in this spirit and model, continued to lead by example in all future democratic election processes.
Meanwhile, RH thanked Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, and Returning Officer, Tseminyu, for their proactive administrative system and maintenance of law and order and Superintendent of Police, Tseminyu, and his team, and security forces, for their effective role in maintaining a strong security system and creating a quick reaction force during the election process.
The hoho also extended gratitude to State Observer Elizabeth Ngully and her team for their active participation and vigilance.
RH also commended all the ULB candidates for their firm commitment to the pledge made before the election and all the political party leaders for adhering to the code of conduct and maintaining peace and tranquillity.
Further, RH expressed gratitude to all the GBs and residents of Tseminyu town for their active participation and presidents of the Seven Ranges and their teams of office bearers for their presence and unflinching support and cooperation extended to the Rengma Hoho during the conduct of free and fair ULB election.
