The Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire has issued a strict directive prohibiting unauthorized construction and development activities in Pungro Town and its surrounding areas, particularly along the stretch leading to Luthur–Salomi village within the proposed alignment and right of way (ROW) of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Road Project. According to a DIPR report, the order cites concerns that such unapproved developments may interfere with ongoing and upcoming survey and assessment works linked to the road project. It further clarified that no compensation, assessment or claim will be entertained for any construction or activity undertaken recently in these areas. Village councils and ward authorities within the affected zones have been instructed to strictly enforce the directive to avoid any legal or administrative complications.
