An unidentified body of a non-Naga male was recovered on Friday near Muslim burial ground, Anwar Hussain road, Dimapur. When contacted police sources, citing eyewitness accounts, said that the deceased in his 20s reportedly fell down and became unconscious and was later declared dead. Meanwhile, in a statement, DCP (Crime) & PRO Dimapur police said that East PS duty party rushed to the spot and found the dead body lying outside the wall of Muslim burial ground. PRO said that inquest was conducted over the dead body, which was witnessed by two independent witnesses, and no any foul play was established.

According to the witnesses, the deceased is suspected to be homeless and cause of death was to be due to illness. After completing all legal formalities, the dead body was shifted to District Hospital morgue for post-mortem, PRO said.


Description of the deceased- wearing light blue shirt, black Nike polo T-shirt, navy blue Nike track pants and a pair of black sandals. PRO said that claimant/relatives/friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the OC East PS at—7085055020.
