Unity College, Dimapur, observed its 20th Freshers’ cum Annual Day at the college premises on September 11.
Principal Dr Lichumo Enie welcomed the new batch of students enrolled in the Undergraduate, Postgraduate and B.Ed programmes. Describing college as a place where students often discover themselves, he encouraged the freshers to be bold and inquisitive.
He also urged them to adapt to the college environment and uphold good moral conduct.
Guest of Honour, Executive Director, BMS World Mission, Dr Kethoser (Aniu) Kevichusa commended the college for its commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
In his address, he stressed the importance of holistic development, encompassing academic, mental and spiritual growth, and encouraged students to embrace the values of servanthood for their own growth and the betterment of their communities.
The programme also featured the felicitation of UG, PG and B.Ed rank holders and subject toppers of Nagaland University.
The college’s annual journal and magazine were subsequently released.
Speeches on behalf of the senior students and freshers were delivered by Viraseno Mejura, BA 5th Semester, Economics Major, and Sumit Kumar, BA 1st Semester, Political Science Major, respectively.
The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Orenponi Lotha, B.Ed 3rd Semester.
In the Mr and Miss Fresher 2026 contest, which tested participants’ wit, fashion and intelligence, Sheme B Phom and Sentisangla B Chang were adjudged Mr and Miss Fresher 2026 in the undergraduate category.
In the B.Ed category, Senmong A Pongen and Razoukhrieu Loucu were crowned Mr and Miss Fresher 2026, respectively.
The formal programme was chaired by Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science, Litoni Kiho.
